Pattern Problem on sp 404

Hello out there,
i bought a 404 2 days before and i am very happy with it. And i am glad to find my way to this great forum! You all do really great music and i hope i can present you my first work soon!

My first 2 problems, i can't resolve for my own is:

1. When i record a pattern and the length is set to 4, the 404 count 4 bars and then 4 other bars... i think normally it has to jump back to the first bar and not record 2x4 bars. What do you think?

2. i record a pattern and drop a bass sample onto a drumbeat. when i listen the pattern afterwards, there's my drumbeat with the bassline. But now, when i play another pattern and wanna switch back to the bassline-drumbeat-pattern only the bassline will be played... Do you know a solution?

The first 4 bars should be a count in and only the 4 bars after that will be recorded and looped when you play the pattern.
I can't answer your 2nd question but i'm sure there is a solution and someone on here can help with that.

2nd Problem
Maybe this is the solution:
Problem: For some reason my samples cut off or don't play all the way to the end of my pattern sequence.

Solution: Most likely you have the sample set to loop or gate playback, place the sample to 1-shot playback and restart the pattern sequence.

In The past i Produced Hip Hop Beats with music2000 (Psx), what was greAt Fun. Then iswitched to The pc. First fruity Loops, Then a Long Time Reason with a midi Keyboard. But To work with a mouse really goes on my nerves now. Decided to Buy a sp 404 and a dr. Groove 202. I do not care about that my Music is gonna be more lo-fi , The Way of producing is really intuitive now. And Thats what i Want. Fuck mouses And pc-Keyboards. Need to Buy an 8 track digital Recorder with 1 or 2 chinch Inputs. Any advices? Maybe Boss br 900 or 600...
