Get a good soundcard. And don't record at high volume.

you do the best you can to avoid clipping, by not maxing out the volume on the sp and having the mic in volume not to high either, a nice happy medium, possibly some sort of free plugin to see how the frequencies are dancing, but really, you get an audio interface to record better quality, or a tape deck and cf card reader and export your beats to the card so you have a great quality wave file................always make sure you are consistent with levels and how loud you listen to the beats though, when ripping out and back into the sp, sometimes you get the beat on the comp and you realize the bass is clipping ever so slightly, always practice critical listening skills

this happened to someone i know. they were using windows vista. i went into sound properties and turned off something called 'sound enhancement' or something like that, and it completely fixed the problem. worth looking at if you using that os
