check out rogerlinndesigns.com and you see what all the hype is about trust me i got a mv 8800 and mpc 1000 that are gonna be up on e-bay once that bad boy drops only thing im keeping in my set up is the sp 505. the linndrumm 2 is basically a mpc 3000 on crack and extacy combined.

Off course you should do whatever you want to do, but selling both the MV8800 and MPC1000 in exchange for a new LinnDrummII seems quite odd to me.

Both the mv8800 and MPC1000 pack a lot of heat, probably even more if you take maximum advantage of the good things of both worlds... it really remains to be seen if the LinnDrumm II can actually live up to it's hype.

At the moment I definitely believe in the LinndrummII because it seems they are carefully listening to what people actually want, but there's nothing really that they've shown to prove this yet.

Personally I think Roger Linn must know his trade, but it could still turn out disappointing for whatever reason.

I mean, I haven't even seen or heard a prototype in action yet (any videos on this machine yet?). We'll eventually see how it will turn out, but it's a tad early in my opinion to judge already. ;) Still, I'm as excited as you are over this new hardware.

Me neither... in fact I don't see much wrong with the quantize on the Roland machines, especially not the MV8800.... Besides, if it's the MPC3000 quantize you want, shouldn't a MPC2500 do the job?

Yeah, I'll def wait to see if it's any good but I have a good feeling about it. I won't buy it unless it's great since I already have the sampling drum machine I wanted.

the reason those guys still use those old MPCs is because that's what they learned first. and why should the change to a different machine now when they know the something inside out??

speaking of old gear. the new/old? minimoog (and the foot pedal, but that's new) has been reissued with some "digital" changes but bob moog made it sound good.

jbl - Bob Moog died a few years ago :(
i think the new Moog you are talking about is this:
http://www.moogmusic.com/detail.php?mai ... t_id=21108

all analogue, no MIDI or patch saving.

I got one of those vinyl's with classical music played on moog synths, there are a couple of 'em and they're all pretty fresh.

Yeah oddly enough same here, all the sounds are usable though. Now that I have a microkorg I'll just make a patch and play it myself. If you go on ebay you can find quite a few moog themed albums, try to find the ones from like hungary and turkey.

LinnDrummII....eh, I'd definatley wanna fuck around with it before I buy it. If it's nice, for 1000.00 or so I'd pick it up.
