i have the audio out from the tv > mixer > sp but the ring is still noticeably loud in the final mix..

It may be a "ground loop" issue.

Plug the power cords from the tv, vcr, mixer, and any other equipment into a good power strip. If everything is plugged into the same power strip then you may be able to eliminate the "ground loop"

Just a thought.

try the lofi button, not the fx lofi, this sometimes cuts hum and hiss a bit,
or try the sp pitch, just a little bit might blur it a bit. real pitching would might work too,

you could also check out the spectrum and chop out entire ranges, it would be the best way, probably if it isn't a ground issue.

If it's not a ground loop issue then maybe it's something to do with the TV. Have you tried the audio out on the VCR instead? More direct that way.

try sampling THROUGH the SP to something else with the lo fi button lit, then sample that with the SP.

lol ill get right on that susie
i really think ripping that shit off will work but i gotta find out which one

edit: i tried most of your guys tips but we still ringin ova here, im trying to get it to work the most convenient for my workflow so sampling threw shit is kinda a tedious no go for me, although it would prolly work really well if i cut the highs with 404sx vinyl sim and lofi into my og

You could try a different VCR. Take the SP round a friend's or whatever and see if you get the same thing. :?
