Don't know if you're still having trouble, but you can't save the settings for your effects on the SP-606. Each time you shut down, you have to reapply effects. You could always resample your sounds with the effects on and resequence your pattern.

You can record your patterns onto your computer through USB. Push the menu button and select the USB option (I think its the fourth one). Switch the input to "mix" and the audio goes both ways. I'm not sure why you're having this problem, but I would suggest a factory restore. If you have the CD, you can do this easily. If not, then I guess you'll have to download the necessary files from Roland.

The Cakewalk software gives you no extra control over samples. It's a totally seperate item. If you really want what P-606 offers, then order Kinetic from Cakewalk. It's a much more complete piece of software and was designed to work with the SP-606 as well.
