Yes, the 606 has tap tempo. When you hit the bpm button there should be an option to tap it.

Pretty much, you should sample the stuff from your old equipment and:

1. Trim the sample loop under func+pad13 to an even number of beats (2/4/8. etc)

2. Configure the samples parameters (set them all to ...

So, I could use tap tempo (606 has this doesn't it?) to work out the rough bpm before I even start, then use phrase sample to get the loop into the 606 and let it work out the exact tempo. Excellent, sounds good - thank you!

Matching bpm to source sample

So, I hvae an ancient pre-MIDI sequencer linked to some equally ancient synths. I want to record a sample which is based on a sequence from this old kit. I have no idea what the bpm is because there's no readout on my antiques, I just know it sounds right. I sample, truncate, loop, and there's the ...

Same for me, installed first time with Vista (32 bit), never any problem when I plug the 606 into the laptop. Far easier than I expected.

You CAN, in fact, record your patterns to your computer through USB. It's actually really simple.

1 - make sure your USB audio mode is set to MIX [in the menu].

2 - make sure your audio editor is set to record.

3 - make sure the cable is plugged in.

4 - press play on the 606.

done. digital ...

Wow, just back from a few days away from home - my newbie questions have been answered, and 606man is back on the scene too!

Thanks to PHeMoX, 606man and all the others who have replied - I'll be trying your suggestions later today, I'll let you know how I get on. Pattern Copy - that's what I ...

Damn, this is getting annoying.

I agree! It probably doesn't help that I'm using Vista, but I am getting the same error message that others have got about my soundcard being used by another application. I've tried any number of different settings on the soundcard, disabling everything (P-606 ...

Unfortunately it doesn't quite work like this I'm afraid. You can not output audio from your SP-606 on to your PC through the USB. You can select it as recording device to record sounds that you playback from your PC instead, but not to your PC. The USB thing is mostly used for MIDI purposes, for ...

Newbie questions - sorry!

Hope somebody can take pity on a newbie who is struggling...

Okay, I've started by importing some WAV files into the SP-606. samples of a CR-78 drum machine, and I've created a nice drum pattern, four measures long. I thought I was recording different parts of the drum beat onto different tracks ...

K2 is great as hell, but it's too tedious

What makes you say that?

Nice tune - very laid back, very mellow, I like it.

You probably won't need Kinetic 2 if your P606 software works fine, as it's pretty much the same program.

Well, it arrived from ...

So I may be no better off, even with Kinetic. Oh well - what can I do, other than try the install when it arrives. I've seen lots of posts here with suggestions to get the thing working. Fingers crossed?!

Kinetic 2 - $49.99 or £19.95 at Amazon!

Hi everybody

My first post - I have just bought a 606 on eBay, which hopefully is on its way from Miami to the UK, I can't wait to get my hands on it.

Having read a few posts about P606, problems with installation, how much better Kinetic is, etc, I had a look on Amazon, and found Kinetic 2 on ...
