I record my beats on fostex r8 reel to reel and then to pro tools or straight to PT depending what kind of sound im after.

Definately Casio RZ-1. Its easy to use and samples that you get are very gritty. Look for the plus model or drumware. Those are quite hard to find though.

I just got my SP-303 and Ive been using MPCs for long time and i was wondering if its possible to mute sample with other sample (mute group in MPC) ? and second question. Isnt it possible to build a song with patterns without triggering them on the fly? I hope you understand my questions.

I dont own sp404 yet but Im definately going to buy one soon. Ive been thinkin of multitracking with sp and I came with an idea of how to use stereo sampling to get two channels ( dont know if this is already old tip) and inserting only left rca to input and not connectin right. then your sample ...
