You plug everything into the patchbay on the back. So plug all the outs & ins to the back & this would be your main signal chain.
For example:

MPC2500 (out)-> sp303 (in)
Op1 (out)-> sp404 (in)

Then on the front is where you patch. So you have the MPC 2500 outs going to the sp303 ins. But now ...

Let me know if this will work:

SP303 -> IN and OUT > Patchbay
SP404 -> IN and OUT > Patchbay
Turntable -> OUT > Patchbay
MPC -> STEREO OUT > Audient iD14 > Monitors
MPC -> 8 OUTS > Patchbay
MPC -> REC IN > Patchbay

and then I'll just patch stuff up in the patchbay

Just saw the Samson patchbays are the most revered because of their normal-half normal - thru switches on the fronts, making it more convenient.

I get how it works, but if I want to connect my stuff, I also need patch cables ...

Hey guys, moving from ableton proved to be quite pricey and complicated.

I got an opportunity to get myself a tape machine. been debating the Fostex E2 or the E16/B16.
I know they are wildly different (2 tracks vs 16 tracks)

I want to bump drums / synths / entire mixes to tape to get some saturation or some of that tape mojo. (I'm into some lofi stuff)

sample different sounds and resample them together .. then trim . as for sampling over used breaks . I agree with the previously stated. there are literally millions of sounds in existance not to use the sample JB break that everybody else has used.

I wanna make beats in Ableton Live and move all of them to the SP404sx so I can perform live... so -

1. When you load your beats, do you do them 1 beat per pad or a part of a beat per pad? transitions? any tuts on that?

There are literally thousands of drum breaks out there,you can buy specialist albums designed for DJ's and producers which contain only drums or you can try to find individual tracks which have breaks on them.

i keep a couple SD cards for my SX for drums only. i listen to vinyl all the time. when a drum break or a drum hit by itself comes up, bring the needle back, put the drum card in, sample, chop, now you have drum hits.

if you're working with one SD tho, just use a couple of banks for the drum hits ...

I just saw that this technique doesn't work for SX... :(

BUT! i saw this technique surface a few times, even in the Chops Magazine videos:

Load up a pad... mark the start then hit the pad so there is no end mark. Next del+mark to truncate top. Now mark the start of the next chop. func+copy to new ...

Its the beginning. Do you just grab a few drum hits, place them in a bank and just sample some vinyl? First thing I did was load way too many drum samples into this... Do you guys usually chop your own?
