sp404 + tascam portastudio 414

yo!

i just bought myself a tascam portastudio 414 from ebay while i was drunk lol.
i've been looking into this machine for a while, and now i have it!

now my question is - how do you use it on your workflow? do you bounce sample to track 1, kick to track 2 etc or do you export the whole beat to ...

Re: how do i achieve this kind of lo-fi drums?

i chopped up a drum loop into separate pads for each kick, hi hat, snare etc.. and then resampled those into a drum loop. i then used that drum loop in combo with other chopped samples. i resampled my favorite loops back into my sp404 og from my laptop and then resampled yet again to get longer ...

how do i achieve this kind of lo-fi drums?

hi!

i've been playing around for a while with my sp404sx, but i mostly make my beats in my daw and then compress and shit on the sp for that final touch.

now i'm going away for a trip, and i have decided to not bring my laptop, and only bring my sp404sx to challenge myself.

i have been using drum ...

Re: question about your beatmaking process on sp404

I haven't tried the pattern mode, will try to do it with the drums. But is it possible to add MFX then? Or is the deal to first make it in pattern mode, resample, and then do the adjustments?

So overall, the most smooth way is to do the tracks and patterns in the SP404SX and then record it out my ...

Re: question about your beatmaking process on sp404

Do you use pattern mode? It's good for drums as you can overdub each layer rather than having to play kick, hat & snare live. Also you can quantise the first sample of each sequence so that it comes in at the correct time, resampling is a good method too it just depends on what you find easier!

I ...

question about your beatmaking process on sp404

Hello!

I just got a SP404SX and I'm so happy over this thing, it's my best friend atm, no doubt.
During the last night I finished a beat (lo-fi hiphop), but it sucks so much to time in each pad during the recording, and if you fail start from the beginning and try to get the whole thing to match ...
