Really stoked at this batch. As beat makers I think it's important to be able to make a beat that stands on its own, but it's equally important (and sometimes harder) to make a beat that compliments a vocalist/rapper. Props to all who entered.

one of my favorite aspects of beat-making is to remix an acapella with a beat that sounds totally different in tone from the original

for this battle you will have to not only make a beat from the given sample but also must use an acapella ...

i by no means have a perfect mix but ive been mastering my tracks inside the 404sx for years now (i know all sp units are a little different but most of these tips should transfer to MOST sp units)

1. start with processing and EQing drums and sample
i usually make the drums bump a little harder ...

Ummm... so if you take someone else's dope song, and copy half of it, you too have in fact created a dope song?

thats a very broad example that could apply to many songs ranging from terrible to great; but i would say whether the song is dope or not has nothing to do with how much is "copied ...
