This EP was made with the SP-404A, TR-8, Reface CS and TB-3. Most synth riffs were sampled from the Reface CS and sequenced from the SP-404A. Riffs were created on the TB-3, midi out into the Reface CS and recorded and effected in the SP-404A. Enjoy :)

Love what I hear. Although I don’t quite know if you had pre-sampled your Tb-3 or just sampled basslines from your Daw and just had the TR-8 trigger them from The SP-404A. But I was grooving to this at 2;40am(sometimes I’m quite the insomniac). I liked & subscribed, so keep it up Mike!

I use the two machines together, and there are some things that aren't mentioned on the Roland site, which are quite cool.

1st. When you assign the TR-8 to trigger a sample, the volume fader on that channel will control the volume of the sample. This isn't mentioned, and is very useful, for fading ...

I haven't used these two devices together, but I sync the SP-404sx with the TR-8. Set the midi on the SP-404sx to Auto. It's a shift command. Connect the midi out of the JD-Xi to the SP-404SX midi in.

Now every-time you hit play on the JD-XI, the SP-404SX will play pattern 1, bank A, and it will ...

So this EP was made entirely with the two devices. Samples on the SP-404A are chord stabs I sampled from my electribe 2, as well as some short vocal samples. The TR-8 is sequencing the SP-404A. They work quite well together as the scatter functions will trigger the sounds on the pad banks and the ...

I use a beatstep pro with the SP404-SX. It adds velocity to the sounds, which is nice and you can create some great drum machines with samples and using the BSPs drum sequencer (with velocity as well).
What you could do is set the drum sequencer to channel 10 and synth 2 sequencer to channel 9, thus ...

For this track the SP404SX is only being used for the vocal sample and master effects for the track. The 404 is being sequenced by the Arturia BSP, as it's easier to mute individual parts. On the 404 it can be done via pattern changes, but I like having the mute functionality
