so, i go alot to old shops, ask parents of friends, jumble sale, record store.
but in my town, there is not many recordstores, who can order and stuff.
so my question is, when you hear a song maybe on the internet, or on the radio, how do you get a quality sample?

Re: RECORDING AND VOLUME KNOB
you guys really record with knob, 3 o'clock?
i record with 9 o'clock, on 12 o'clock its already too loud (even for my speakers, plus red volume-bar in DAW)
i record directly into laptop/audacity...
should i change something?

pitch like the "simpler" in ableton
Lets say i sampled a violin one-shot sound from a orchestra vinyl.
Now i want to create a new melody with different pitches from this on different pads.
I really struggle with the pitch function on sp404sx - i recently tested ableton for 30 days, and there is this cool thing, called simpler, i ...

Different sound in DAW between pad and pattern
Why is there another whole sound when i have an arrangement on pads, and i make a loop (melody and drums all in one pad) and the same loop with a pattern using quantisation.
when i record the "one" pattern with all in it, to make a full beat, the sound is really ok in audacity. BUT when i make the ...

Re: i should've put this in production techniques but w.e
i have the same problem, but mostly only when i use patterns.
when i resample and i have a whole loop, the drums are ok.
i read once about that problem, but i cant remember...
does anybody have a good trick to make the drums sound the same in SP and when recorded (using quanti)?
thx

Re: Record real Track (to rap)
Wow, thanks for your thoughts.
in a few cases, my friend shows up with already written 16 bars, and all that matters are the BPM - and if he likes a beat, he says ok lets go i can do it over this. and then we record, whitout adjusting his lines.
so i guess, we just make a pattern/resampling pad ...

Record whole song (to rap)
Hello Guys. Let's talk your general production, for example for using to rap over (recording process).
Do you have your samples, drums layed out and cutted, with different patterns (intro bars, verse, hook etc) and you count and change the patterns while recording
OR
