That's actually a good point.
I wanted to finish my beats in the multitrack, just so it's not destructive. I would then be able to go back a few weeks later, listen to the mix again and then add a few tweaks here and there. I don't know why I have that need, it's always been hard for me to finish ...

Re: Workflow with SP + multi track recorder
Yeah I'm not completely sold on one track recorder. I wasn't necessarily thinking about a cassette recorder but I'm sure the workflow is pretty similar
So if I understood everything, you record track by track in your 4 track which is exactly what I would like to do. Is it possible to loop what you ...

Workflow with SP + multi track recorder
OK so I've been thinking about buying a multi track recorder for a little while now but I'm not entirely sure about how it would change my workflow. The one I'm interested in is the Tascam Portastudio but it could be any multi track recorder.

Re: Sp 303 + MPC 1000 assign outs
I confirm what SLEEPASSISTANT said.
I do that all the time to add effect to my samples. Send my samples from out 1 & 2 to the SP, and then output of the SP back to my MPC in.
The only way to hear the sample is to go to the record mode (assuming you hit the EXT SOURCE button on the SP). Then I can ...

Re: Sidechain trickery
Try resampling your kick pattern on top of your sample with your sample being at a very low level. Apply compressor and that's it
The compressor will bring your sample back up except when the kick is played.

Re: Just Lewp It Vol.1
Thanks, I appreciate the feedbacks guys. It's funny you are talking about my bass game. I have a Microkorg but I barely use it. Most of the time, I used the 16 levels feature on the MPC with some bass samples that I have.

Re: How many SP's you got? Anyone with the whole Family?
Started with the 404SX and then found a 202 and 303 for cheap. I couldn't resist after all I heard about these machines and I don't regret anything

Re: Volume Pot makes Crackling Noise
Mine crackles too. It's not really a big deal since you are not supposed to touch it when it's adjusted to the desired volume. I personally don't so I'm cool with it

Re: How can i mute the drum sounds in the background?
You can adjust the volume of each pad to kill the volume entirely if needed. But there's no dedicated mute function. There's no mute groups for open and closed hi-hats either.
I think he's talking about muting the drums that are already in the sampled loop. If it's the case then the answer is no ...
