Any more news on the 500 and 606 together 606man?

Just asking because I was going to get an ESX to go with my 606 but now I am not so sure. I am thinking that if I had a similar setup to the one you showed above I could run the MPC (I am thinking of a 1K) through the 606 FX. As well as having 2 ...

Classic!

Seriously though, just listen to loads of your favourite music and make some notes about what you like or don't like on a track. Pretty soon you can work out your own formula for the kind of stuff you want to do.

mpc midi out -> sp-404 midi in

set the mpc to master and sp-404 to slave(external)

then look in the sp-404 manual to see what midi channel it responds to,
and make a pattern on the MPC that sends to external channel number that matches the one the sp-404 reponds to.

then you use the notes in the ...

Thanks for the tips 606man! I was a bit worried that I could break something! I'm not hitting the pads with hammers but I am hitting them pretty forcefully so it's good to know they will loosen up.

BTW 1st impressions of the 606 is that I really love it, just playing on the stuff already in the ...

Pad Issues

My brand new SP606 arrived yesterday!

I will have to spend some more time with it later today. Just a quick question though, I had a quick play on it last night and I was really having to bang on the pads to get anything. I checked the pad settings in the manual and changed the velocity to light ...

I liked both tracks and I thought the bass synth on the Matt Foley track was very cool. Nice to hear Chris Farleys voice again.

The Behringer UB series mixers are decent and I have heard a lot of good things about the Xenyx gear. I used to have a Behringer Compressor which was useless. My bandmate bought a couple of the FX pedals which are complete pants and he has a Virtualiser Pro which is a really cool piece of gear. I ...

What Mixer are you using?

Digital or Analogue.
Small or Large.
Hardware or Software

What mixer are you using and why?

Or

What mixer would you like to have someday?

I'll start off I am actually between mixers at the moment as I have just sold my Behringer Eurorack 2004A. It had plenty of channels (20) and ...

Woah! I had not even thought about using a turntable (doh  ), I am useless using one, but I have a mate who is pretty good at scratching vinyl. He could scratch, I loop it with the 555 and carry it on while adding FX etc.. while he cues up the next phrase. Endless possibilites there definately.

Really nice laid back beat, well done Drewzle I was tapping my foot all the through. Only thing I could think of was maybe some more Ethnic/Indian vocal phrases in there or you could go totally "World Music" and stick in some nice sexy female voice(s) speaking in Chinese or Italian!
