Sounds interesting I was trying to do this for the 404SX to change the pitch shift so it behaves more like the 202 (slows down or speeds up sample - traditional style)

From trawling with a hex editor looks like it is written in C++

So we can try and decompile or reverse engineer by making small changes ...

My apologies I know its been a while and I should have posted more updates - the latest is this - received a polymer laser cut I to ensure the the buttons and everything is lined up.

This plastic is obviously to thin as you can see by the flex it has in the photo so Im waiting for the next polymer ...

I updated my MS-1 to 1.13 and bought a compact flash adapter from Ebay and a few different Sandisk compact flash cards(16mb and 64mb). I can get it to sort of work, but it freezes after doing any task(formatting,sampling,deleting) and I need to reboot it to continue but it works after the reboot ...

Thanks scopebeats! I have gone through numerous printers who couldn't achieve this and now I have finally found someone who can help, its turning out to be borderline fabrication!

1. Turn off the SP-404.

2. While holding [PAD 1], turn on the power.

3. To trigger samples on Bank A, send notes B2-A#3 on MIDI channel 1. B2 will trigger Pad 1, C2 will trigger Pad ...

Thanks, everyone, I have been working on tweaking this design and its at version 3 now - I am in the process of test printing and seeing how it translates into an actual product.

Due to trying to keep the costs down It may not be metal but maybe polycarbonate laser cut. or a cheaper alternative is ...

I can ship to the UK, if everyone likes the second design and in metal then just ned to manufacture / CNC and screen print. Not sure how much that will cost?
