Re: Good news! aka the Look What I Just Got thread
Fer YEARS I’ve wanted this unit! I didn’t get a big modular synth or case like I wanted, but I got a DAW in a box with the MC909, so it’s all a one stop shop. Drum machine, sampler, sequencer! Just have to find the right sounds in there! Lol. Planning to upgrade the memory and get a 256 mb SIMM ...

Re: SP404mk2 song per pad out to midi?
Wow ok well I will answer this myself. I have found out that yes I can load full songs to each pad. And that each pad can have different tempos now whether or not the 404 can send midi clock each time I hit a pad, I am not sure, will hopefully be getting one this coming week

SP404mk2 song per pad out to midi?
Ok here is what I am trying to do.
I will be loading entire songs into the 404. Each pad I want to have a song and its tempo, I then want to play the the pad(song) and it send out midi start stop info or tempo would be nice. Is this possible?
I will be slaving FLstudio(laptop) to the sp404 ...

Re: Hardware vs VST's and the VST's win
ok late reply. Don't get me wrong, I still have my hardware. But I just love the vst's. I guess its ease of use for me. And by the way all my Roland stuff still works fine after all this time. But sadly the Kurzweil k2500 sits in the closet, never to make a sound again. Parts too expensive. My Korg ...

Hardware vs VST's and the VST's win
Heres why and no disrespect to my sp808s and my mc909. But hardware tends to fail and manufactures abandon the hardware once they produce new stuff. Now my 808s and 909 are die hards but soon they will eventually meet their end. I have tried hard to convince Roland that they need a software version ...

Re: VSTS...(synth+bass)...
Theres plenty of vst's that do basses. But what I have found that makes any vst sound better is just running the bass through an EQ and eq your bass to where ya want it and a compressor to bring the volume back up

Re: WTF
I,ve been really lucky with the 2 808's I have(knock on wood). And I searched relentlessly for a way to use something other than the disk drive(smart card etc)...no luck. You would need to learn machine coding...and well I would rather make music than learn that shit

The perfect sampler !!!
Man samplers must be going the way of the dinosaur !!!
Ohh I have begged Roland to make a new sampler. I send them an email every year about it, I also express the amount I would gladly pay.
Basically give us a SP-808 in Akai MPX16 form factor with a larger screen. Hell give us a sp808 in a Akai ...

Re: DIY looper/sampler
Unfortunately , I have given up, I am very mad at myself for giving up but learning Python computer programming made my head explode. Plus my glass business I own is very busy right now, so time is not on my hands. I was going to pay a programmer to help me, but I just don't have the time. So I am ...
