This is exactly how I do it...really simple.

Id still say the biggest difference is that in the SP you have limited mixing capabilities... so while on the computer most DAWs will present you with a big ass mixer screen and its just sooo tempting to try and fix a bad kick with a compressor, EQ, distortion plugin... and sooo tempting to fix a ...

If you want a visual interface,the best sequencer and make a beat very precisly take maschine .
If you want the best effects , a magic grain , make raw beats and portability take sp.

(i have both and i think it's a very good combo )


Same here....I think this pretty much sums it up ...

The 606 was my first sampler...if I remember correctly it chops to a predefined region and you have no control over where the slices will land....or it might slice at the transients I can't remember. I think if I had my choice of all the SP line up I'd definitely want a 404SX and either a 303 or ...

I think a lot of producers are producing a beat in DAW, then loading up their sp as if for live performance. Then, record the performance as your actual song.

I'm still learning. My way around the 404 so bear with me folks! I'm pretty certain the 404 has a tape stop effect right? Would I use the DJFX Looper?
