one more thing, on the 404, or sx, is it easy enough to change the velocity settings after the fact of the samples?

ie can you change the volume of each snare hit it from 0 to 127?

i would probably just want to do this on the hihats, kick and snare mostly, and other drums ...

... but still you won't be able to resample it within the SP... but if you have the MPC you could just sample into that and export from CPU to SP.

ok, so in loop playback, i can just tap my pad (instead of holding it down) and it will loop continuously forever right?

so say i had a 1/4 note chop, if i had loop mode on, i would tap the pad and it would repeat my 1/4 note chop, but if i had 2 or more samples on loop mode, i would tap my pad and ...

yeah i was thinking that too, although if your samples are long at all, the sp 404 would still be better for this kind of thing than the mpc because the mpc can only handle 128 mb of RAM at a time, so its better for short samples, as on the 404 you can do however many your flash card allows.

yeah i saw a 555 go for like 200 on ebay about 7 months ago kicking myself that i couldnt have jumped on it! i went back and looked and now they are all starting at like 350 ish.

im gonna wait until i can find a good deal on one of them and try and find another steal.

i wish the sp 404 and 555 had mute groups, at least 4 or 5 of them, it would also be cool if they had 8 or 12 tracks when recording a pattern.

i also wish all of the sp series had the djefx looper effect.

yo ill, thats filthy, did you find your beats matched up well when recording from the mpc to the sp? no timing differences or anything like that?

would you just go into songmode on the mp and record the whole shit in with each part solo'ed. then on the sp, trigger each sound at the same time, so ...
