Re: ZOOM R8 - Mini Multitracker/Sampler

how do you track out with this thing without midi? i'm looking for a hardware multitracker for the zero latency but i'd like to get my tracks onto a computer at the end of the day.
I think yoi do this via usb...

Tracking out 505/606?

since the 505 and 606 have 4 tracks, i'm wondering if anyone here has tracked them out (made a 4 track) to a daw or hardware recorder (the sequences, not playing live) and how they went about it.

Re: Sp 505 or MPC 2000?

the sp-505 is more fun than any MPC IMO. the MPCs are more professional in general, with the ability to have a ton of tracks, big polyphony, multiple outputs, etc. if you want to do real polished shit get the MPC, if you're into grime/lo-fi the 505 is excellent and better than the 2000 for this vibe ...

Re: Who is still using the 505?

i'm jumping back on the 505 (got one coming in the mail) as i've decided it's my favorite SP. i've tried 303, 404sx, 505, and 606.

Re: SP505 or 606?

i've tried 404sx, 303, 505, 606, 505 is my favorite.

i'm actually selling my 404sx, have another 505 on the way. at this point i'm gonna stick with that, it's a great machine. (i also combo every SP with zoom sampletrak to make up for no pitch/ugly SP timestretch i don't use)

606 would be better ...

Re: The Next SP: What features do you want?

Take the 505 then do the following:

SD card support
Expand sample memory
Faster interface
Turntable style pitching
Add 2 track to sequencer but make them audio tracks, not sequencers
BPM memory
Non-destructive beat slicing
Update effects

Done. Perfect groove box.

505 is perfect, just add extra ...

Tip: turn off auto-stereo for sampling on SX

the sx by default samples in stereo, so every time you want to sample in mono you have to turn it off which can be a pain in the ass to do and if you forget a big hassle (don't want to waste polyphony on drum hits for example.)

to make it turn off and stay off hit external source, press the stereo ...

Re: Which Drum Machine to purchase?

^do they come with software? if so get the maschine (not mikro) the studio is still buggy as hell. if they don't have the software don't bother IMO.

Re: Which Drum Machine to purchase?

the 505 chop is much better than the 606 chop. the 505 you set a level of autochop but then can adjust the chops all at once. the 606 is either auto-chop with no adjustments (take the regions it gives you) or chop everything seperately, which for me makes the 606 chop take at least twice as long.

Re: Which Drum Machine to purchase?

also i wouldn't get the dr-202 or xr-20 unless you really need a drum machine for some reason. if you don't have a sampler that's more important at this point, and they work as drum machines anyway (just throw some drum samples in.) it's worth noting you can get all the drum samples the dr-202 and ...

Re: Which Drum Machine to purchase?

i would get the 505 over the 303, that's as much as i can say. i also liked the 505 than the 606 for chopping but the 606 got some DOPE features. note repeat, mute groups, pan.

Re: SP1200 Sound on SP505

it's not exact but i pitch the record up from 33 to 45 plus 10%, sample in standard or hi-fi (depends) then pitch it down in the sampletrak for similar artifacts (that ringing shit.)
