Re: Through the amp...

Good news. I still have to get a cable to finish my plan, but I'm wanting split my signal (highs and lows through a stereo eq) and add the 303's tremolo to the highs. I don't know how it will sound, but it might be fun either way. I didn't even think of it not really having a pre-amp.

Re: Through the amp...

Awesome to hear! I knew it would work, but testing it on something that costs this much is for sure something I don't want to do. Thanks a lot!

Through the amp...

So I was thinking of using the 303 as a guitar effect through my effects loop on my tube amp. I'm sure it would work, but does anyone know if it would damage anything? I'm about 1000 percent positive it would be fine, but I want to make sure before I do it from anyone with any experience or ...

Re: Need help about pattern sequencer and resampling.

Recording to another medium won't always hurt the low end. There are plenty of handheld recorders that are fairly cheap and will retain all frequencies. Like he said, if you have a smartphone, it probably has a recording function on it of some sort, and it won't kill it completely.

Re: HOW DO YOU GET VELOCITY?

I was never able to get it to work with patterns on the 303(as far as keeping the velocity info) but i was always resampling which seemed to work fine. I'm assuming that's what you're saying, that the velocity information won't translate to the resampled pad, and when you played it back it would be ...

Re: HOW DO YOU GET VELOCITY?

Re: Ableton Drum rack to control SP?

depending on the controller you don't really even need to set it up through a drum rack. changing the midi notes of the pads on say an mpd to correspond to the notes of the sp or sampler or drum machine, you can just use midi in/outs. then you can still make an effects rack of the audio coming in ...

Re: HOW DO YOU GET VELOCITY?

an mpd 18 works too. super cheap. kind of a bitch to set up but gives you the 8 pad layout and velocity.

Re: SP 303 users

Probably, but there's a good chance you'll get massive feedback. The only way to know is to try. If switching cables is a huge problem for you, look into something like an akai mb76. They are old and you can get different routing options (*at least that's my impression of it*). Switching cables ...

Re: dakim vid / setup question

got lazy while reading this, so it may have already been addressed, but setting mfx/ctrl3 to 12 o'clock cuts out the delay of hitting the sample to when it sounds. (at least on the 404sx)

Working with a mac so as soon as you get it going let me know. Sounds fucking insane. May make me actually want to use the sequencer.

Re: Another SP to Compliment the 404 (?)

The 303s definitely has that. It was for sure a bummer on the 404. Who says you just have to have one more? I mean why not have 20. And definitely look into other samplers. There are a lot of great samplers out there though I do love the workflow on the sp series. This is a good place for advice if ...

Re: Another SP to Compliment the 404 (?)

Depends on what you want. The 555 looks awesome for a sampling compliment to the 404. Having velocity sensitive pads USBinterface, looper, midi in/out , phantom power input, etc. The 606 looks like a decent sequencer. I've owned the 808. It's complicated but powerful and cheap (giving you a synth ...
