i don't see many replies.. anyway, converted my samples from aiff 16/44,1 (then they were 28 megabytes, the cf is 32) to aiff 8/44,1 (now they are 11 megabytes), and they loaded ok.
but i didnt like the 8 bit quality, so i don't think i'll go with this solution. it's not like the original sample ...

i've owned both, but each is different story. but i would say that
mpc 500 is a machine for music production, that does its job bad.
sp 404 is a machine for live performance, that does its job good.
so, to each his own:) but, in the end, you might like mpc 500, people have been producing dope ...

that's the issue. i couldn't have imported on the a/b banks, you can only import in the c bank if you want to upload samples from the memory card. only 10 of the 18 loops were imported, not the rest. i haven't reached the 12 mins for sure, these 10 loops are like 4-5 seconds each.
