Does any one else try manually ducking out samples? ie without using compression.

Loop up a kick and as then as you play your loop/chops/chords manually duck the sample out with the voice trans vol.


Can take a bit to get the timing right but its nice if you dont want to lose the characteristic ...

i guess i just wanted to post.

that if you ever have a bass note and kick drum that have sub bass that overlaps you can apply MFX14 to take out that sub on either the bass or the kick so that that you dont get a muffled, over powering sub.

i think the . in the OG display blinks when its lo bat but not sure. but yeah the SX does do that doesnt it.

the way i always kind of thought of the bounce to it was like instead of playing the kick and snare like...

1-2-3-4-1-2-3-4

its more like 1-and2-and3-and4-and1-and2-and3-and4

just 2 new beats that play one after the other. Hope you like. Made the drum beat on the sx going into the og. then added the chops in the og.

I would say these techniques have been around but yeah definitely become more commonly utilized. To me just knowledge spreading and people becoming more aware and adding these techniques to their arsenal. beat making game evolving. I say here to stay. I think more people make "regular" hip hop ...

hey i just thought of a better way of doing this.

what sucks about the method used in the video is that after you press MFX to mute the beat and then trigger a one shot, the MFX now applies to the last pad you tapped. so if you try to do it multiple times in a row, its not going to mute the beat ...
