Re: 2 or more effects on different samples in one pattern
not possible, there's only one FX engine in the SP-555. you can do it on SP-606 or the MC-808 or anything with more engines in it.

i can basically get an MC-808 or a Maschine for exactly the same dollar (or pound). I can get either tomorrow, so i'm sort of debating what to get. I recently sold a bunch of old gear (including an RS7000) so I'm sort of reluctant to start ...

MC-808
Anyone here using an MC-808.
I've got an SP-555 but i really miss a few features like sample choking, sample pitching and having more than one effect at a time.
I'm basically looking for a unit for live use. I have an MPD24 controller and i thought about getting an MC-808 since i get the nice ...

Re: SP-555 level problems
just to confirm, it's definitely quiet. i took it round to a mate's pro studio the other day to do a track and the level was waaaay lower than the Juno 106 we were using as well.
the only workaround i found for live use was to export everything into a sound editor, max all samples using an effect ...

Dak is great.
I'm gonna cynic a bit on the SP "live" when all i see tweaking fx pots two and three on the DJ looper FX on your drum track. sorree
By the way, did anyone check Tropics from Teebs & Jackhigh. It's basically amazing IMO

Re: changing the pitch/tuning samples?
as a stereo sampler the SP also lacks the ability to pan samples in anyway, which is an extraordinary omission.
MC808 can do everything an SP can except accept a 1GB card, and all the other things as well.

my first actual post here. Thanks for the useful stuff, workarounds etc.
SPs make me laugh, so many things are so hard to do, it lacks even basic sample editing (pitch, pan) and you need all these workarounds and tricks and fooling the OS but in some ways I find it makes it more fun.
