Yes I noticed the difference as well. Going from the 303 which died on me to now using the 404sx. Seems like the vinyl comp is gone replaced by a filter in vinyl sim mode from what I can tell. Never had the OG 404. But, the compresser sounds dope to me maybe even better than the vinyl comp. Anybody ...

Sorry... just found these boards the other day when I was trying to find a difference between the 404 and 404sx. I was also reading some posts about sound differences of 303 and 404 and I could of swore all people said Doom uses 303. Whatever.
