The Ctrl 3 knob AND the Volume knobs have stopped working and either need to be fixed or replaced, but i'm unsure as to whether either can be done?

I've taken some photos of the culprits that aren't working after pulling the unit apart ...

to my knowledge, with the sp-404/sx, there's no polyphony settings nor any sample choke mode.

well i'm not actually looking for any pitch shifting or time stretching.

i'm simply looking to transpose the pitches of samples.change their playback speed, just like with a basic sampler. i was so sad when i found that my SP samplers couldn't do this.

can you actually do this with any of the SP ...

hey all.

i've had a 404 and 303 in the past. and I love the SP samplers a lot, but the one thing I was always frustrated about was a proper sample pitch transpose function like on most other samplers. I'm not talking about the "Pitch" effect, but an actual function to speed up or slow down a sample ...

as far as i'm aware, there's no possible way to chain patterns together to create a song. would be nice though

ok, another quick question.

First of all, the SP-404 cable worked! Yessss... now, I have to find a replacement anyway, so I can have both running.

I live in Australia, all the SP's I have bought have come from the states, including this new one I just received today. I use very good quality ...

my sp-303 from ebay just arrived.
it came with the sampler itself and its ACI-120C adapter.

Now, basically, as soon as I plugged it in, the adapter itself started making a weird buzzing noise, and then after about 15 seconds of turning the 303 on, the adapter itself started smoking ...

is this confirmed? i've been considering a 555 for a while now, but this doesn't sound too good Maybe i should stick to getting an mpc1000.

I've got an sp-404 and I love it I'm interested in getting a second SP, probably a 555.

I'm interested to know from the gurus here, what are your favourite features on the 555?

i'm aware of the copy pattern trick with the 404, but it is possible to copy samples to put them on multiple pads? or is the only way to resample by hand?

i only own a 404, but am intrigued definitely by the 303.

is there anything the 303 has the 404 doesn't? any little bonus things?
