I just bought some drum kits from http://www.smartloops.com/ that I'm really happy with. Really good quality.

Re: ACID WAV file on SP-404sx?
Okay everyone, after some testing, I have found out that ACID WAV works on the 404. I have even bought and downloaded drum loops in the Dry Studio Kit from smartloops.com. Really nice!
I am happy!

Re: ACID WAV file on SP-404sx?
I guess you could always just play the samples then record the audio into your SP? slows things down alot though, and gives u the start/end point headache.
That is true, didn't think of that.

Re: ACID WAV file on SP-404sx?
Thanks a lot for your input!
It do sounds like I should not buy one of these drum loop packages, yet. Not without downloading some free files of these file types and try first.

ACID WAV file on SP-404sx?
Hi all!
I'm thinking of buying some professional drum loop recordings (e.g. this one: http://www.smartloops.com/products/prodrumworks/pdw_vol1.htm ).
They are offering ACID WAV, Apple Loops and REX2 file formats. Will it be possible for me to import the ACID WAV files into my SP ...

Re: Timing problem during pattern recording
mess with the start point of the sample, moving it forward and see if that helps at all, might have to add some back in at the end, maybe change the bpm of the pattern by one or two beats, and possibly mess with resampling the sound to another pad and going back and forth between the two so they ...

Timing problem during pattern recording
Okay, so here we go again...
I have a sample with two measures length. I want to record a four measure pattern, where I use this pattern twice, like this:
1.1-2.4 Sample
3.1-4.4 Sample
I press the sample pad at 1.1 during pattern recording, so the sample gets record at 1.1-2.4. Works fine.
Then ...

Newbie questions
Hi all,
Some newbie questions:
1) I want to record a sample, using an effect, then record one or two more samples using the exact same effect and effect settings. But for some reasons, the effect settings do not seem to be kept when I record the second sample. Any ideas?
2) Is there a way to ...

Re: Beginner questions
as for the hardware sequencers for 404 I'd suggest some cheapest mpc 2000.
For five days now Ive been playing with the XL version, and so far Im STUNNED. It's absolutely fantastic, as a sequencer especially.
Also the Sequencing abilities of Yamaha RM1X should not be underestimated as I heard a lot ...

Re: Beginner questions
hey mats, good choice!
1) yeah, using midi you can control only samples. Pattern control unfortunately not supported.
2) at first I also got some problems with whole resampling thing, but just follow the manual, and you'll be good. You just hit resample+rec, "destination pad", rec, and desired ...

Beginner questions
Hello!
First post here, just found these forums after picking up a SP-404SX yesterday. Got some beginner questions:
1) Is it possible to control the patterns in the 404 using MIDI and an external sequencer? I.e., can I send signals to tell it to play pattern 3 (bank B), then pattern 2 (bank A) etc ...
