naw, I'm using it because I like making beats with it. I don't like using the computer to make beats. Ultimately I'm going to to computer as a multitrack tape machine. But I want the comp as late in the process as possible.

What is the deal with the 505, it's like the dark horse (actually that is the 606, talk about a black sheep, who designed that thing, Megatron?) I can't find much info on it. Was hoping for the definitive break down on the 606 v 555 v 505. I seriously cannot buy them all to try out.

I don't know what it is with me, but my black version's sequencer was fine, but my red pro, the sequencer sucks it. I just don't know what the dealio is. I don't even bother using the sequencer on it. It has proven itself unreliable, and I will not rely on it.

Yeah, I think the motus and the unitor require a computer to set it up initially to how you want it. After that, no computer involved.

Others like that akai (think there were two versions and they had different functionality, so check it), and maybe the roland had buttons where you can just do it ...

Do you know any gear/box that allows you to plug a midi source in and then split the midi up into say like 4 or 8 midi outs?
