Different dj mixes... good producers I hadn't heard much from before this week are Ghosts on Tape (weird dusty tropical house sort of stuff made on samplers) and Kowtown (dubby post-dubstep house). l heard on XLR8R last night a nice track by Tycho.

Thanks guys. It was all on my 404. I want to get a microkorg so I can do more "song" stuff, you know what I mean? The clap sounded better on tape than when it got digitized, for some reason. Thanks for the feedback! I want to develop some of the straight beats I've made into more fully fleshed songs ...

Anyone listened to it yet? I'm listening to it right now, and I like it. The Archangel remix is nice and subtle, the AC remix is great, and his original beats are good. The beat tape flows well. Would have been a good summer jam sort of beat tape.

the cool thing about the SPs is that you can just jam and let things play out in weird ways, and then you find out what sounds good. It's by ear and hands, you know what I mean? I wouldn't want to have to read through the MPCs lists and deal with time delays and whatnot. Not knocking the MPC, but if ...

man I want a 555. It seems to me like the MPC's take too much scrolling around and are less intuitive. The fx memory aspect sounds so nice... man.
