Re: Sample Exchange erasing my samples!
The 404sx uses it's function button and pad 2 (labeled "exchange"). So in theory it would be faster and simpler on the sx, but in practice... IT DELETES MY SAMPLES! This new 404 keeps disappointing me. First I find out the VinylSim is WEAK, now this. Pshhhhhhh... Keep your old 404s.

Sample Exchange erasing my samples!
Whenever I try to use the exchange feature on my new 404sx, it deletes both samples instead of switching them. I'm using the card that came with it. I hope they didn't send me a funked-up card. Anybody else experience this?

Your 404+This Program=Cool Stuff
m
It's old, but it's great.
It emulates two 303's, an 808, and a 909 + some effects (The distortion is awesomely old-school). And it sounds alright too. It's poifect for making loops, especially if you're into dance-type stuff. Obviously it would also be good for 808 lovers.

Re: Good flash card and good recording device for sp404?
I've always used the same 2 sandisk cards and never had a problem.
For recording, I use a tascam dp02cf. The sound quality is really decent. There's USB out so everything I record can be sent to my computer. And the eq on it is pretty legit.
But I would still look into computer recording before ...

Re: Tempo Sync Tremolo/Pan?
Hmm... It seems tremolo/pan isn't affected by the pattern's bpm or the sample's bpm. Weak...

Re: Can the 555 do this? (Computer Question)
Thanks dude. Lot of good info. But i need to squeeze a little more out of you if i may. Is the file swapping between the 555 and the pc a seamless and, more importantly, intuitive process? I don't want to sift through menus and be turning equipment on and off and all that kind of thing. If I wanted ...

Can the 555 do this? (Computer Question)
Basically, I want to be able to record to the pads, and edit/layer/arrange/whatever them on my computer DAW style. Can I do this with the 555? I can't record into my PC because it sounds like crap and my PC is too old and retarded to put money into (getting a new one soon hopefully). I was going to ...

MC-303 as sequencer???
Would I be able to sequence a Microkorg with a MC-303? I'm not talking about syncing the MK's arpeggiator with the 303. I want to create original melodies and have the MK play them. This could be a really dumb question, as I don't know much about the 303 or MIDI in general. I was wondering this ...

16bit 44.1kHz samples giving UnS error? HELP!
This is driving me nuts. I have some 808 samples that, as far as I know, should work. But when I try to import them, they don't. I'm particularly happy with these samples, and would really like to get them working. Any suggestions???
EDIT: And no, there aren't unsupported characters in the filenames.

555 vs 404 - Help appreciated!
I'm looking to buy my first hardware sampler. I'm really anxious to break out of the very non-musical pc workflow, but I'm not so sure about which sampler is best for me. At first, I was dead set on an MPC. But those things are so grossly overpriced considering the tech they use and the out-of-box ...
