Hey 505 users,

Today I remembered that some time ago I uploaded a beatmaking vid with my sp 505 on youtube , and never posted it here. Maybe some of you like to see this kind of videos (I know I do), so here it goes:

PS: The vid is in portuguese, but I added a kind-of subtitle so you can get ...

I will make more beat tapes and also some beatmaking videos.

Card question

Hey, what's good? I got a question about the sm/xd card, I've searched the forum and couldn't find the answer it!

I understand that, getting a card with more storage capacity gives us more sampling time, but do the number of sample banks stay the same? Like, having a 16 mb or a 128 mb, the only ...

How about this...?

Hey, last night I had an idea, but didn't tried it yet, so I wanna know your opinion:

Besides my loved MPC500, I have an SP-505 wich I bought recently. I'm diggin' it, altough it has some limitations, the small number of banks and small memory. By the other hand, it has good efects, a good ...

I tried that, fauna, no use either, but thanks for the tip!

whyse0ne, I also think that one of those vets should have talked about it if it did work, but as I read it on the manual, I got some hope.. I also stopped trying last night, lol. I've read many times that part of the manual, just to see ...

Yeah, that's what I'm thinking...in page 47 of the manual there's this part:

" 6. Press the pad to listen to the sample play back, and check the start/end point settings.
By holding down [PAD] and pressing [F1] (START) or [F2] (END), you can listen to the sound before or after the start/end ...

Yes, I know that... But when I have a long loop, like 3 or 4 bars, it would be nice to hear only the last 25% of the loop, not having to hear the whole loop again! In the mpc 500 I can set the start and end point, and press the pad to hear the loop, but there's a special pad to hear only the last ...

No, that's not it. I'm asking if anyone know a way to preview the end of a loop that's set. Like, I set the start point, the end point, and then I want to hear if the end point is in the place that I want. I know that I can press the pad and hear the whole sample, but in the manual says that there ...

1st day on 505!

Hey guys, I finally got my sp 505! I'm starting to mess with it, but I have a question about setting start and end points in a phrase. In page 47 of the manual it says that if I press [PAD] + [F2], i can hear the sonds before my end end point, but I can't do it! I guess that the [PAD] that they're ...

I see, so i guess that with a 16mb card it's not possible to have 2 or 3 beats in it, I have to finish one, backup to pc, erase, restart, yeah?
For what I read, the only way to export the beats from the 505 is by RCA and recording it in a sampler or DAW. But that's not a turn-off to me, lol!
Well ...

I read that with the original card we can have close to 2 minutes of sampling, that's enough for me! I only sample 4 ou 5 bars for each beat, and then chop'em up! Count Sierackula you talked about "long play mode", whats that? Is it mono sampling? If it is, and if that works with the 16 mb I'm good ...

No...I asked and it only comes with an original card of 16 mb...tI'm guessing that's pretty sh**ty, right? And those SM cards are not easy to find!

Well, I'm thinking that I'm not going for the 404 because at this point, having a mpc500, I really need a machine with a decent screen, lol! About the 505, does it need to be upgraded? more RAM?
What i read about the 505 that pleased me is the ability to easily set start and end of the loop, and ...
