I do like this ^, a lot...

Check your local hip hop scene. I'm sure they're doing stuff light years better than stuff on the radio or getting hyped by the establishment.

As ...

Roland RS-5

I just picked up a used one for a sweet price. Anyone use one of these, have any tips, tricks? I restored it to the factory settings, and I'm about to print off the owner's manual.

Thanks!

More exciting than the new Daft Punk...

Fuck yes. Seems like Korg may be paying more attention to these forums than Roland...

BPM CHANGE WITH FAR LESS DEGRADATION

Hey y’all, just came up with a new technique for BPM change of a sample.

We all know that when you adjust the Time/BPM, it degrades the sound of the sample if it’s too extreme of change (for example: going from 100 BPM to 120 BPM or vice versa.)

One way I’ve over come this, is by taking the sample ...

Re: I need a mixer....but which one?

Those Xenyx one's are alright. I think you find a decent Yamaha 8 channel mixer for around 100-150, though. W/Effects and other nice features.

Re: SP-Forums shout out...

RIGHT!

And even the work-arounds, etc. that are required sometimes, due to the limit of certain features, enable users to not just hack the gear itself, but allows you to hack THEIR BRAIN! When I play w/a 404 my interest and creativity levels are way up!

And yeah, the forums here are so full of ...

SP-Forums shout out...

You know, you can bitch about Roland, however…If the MPC series had a forum this tight, I wouldn’t have a practically BRAND NEW MPC 1000 sitting in a box in my studio right now…I came into an inheritance and thought “hmm. Might as well…”

Instead, you get a bunch of “Forums” aka links to tutorials ...

A new/old project....

I used to make beats/songs under the name "Ultra Modern Leather Express". Until recently, DJing and playing in a rather busy band kept me away from this strange, producer driven project. Now that I'm strictly DJing, my free time has opened up to continue making these little tracks. I've decided to ...
