I never said it was a multi-tracker - what i described was a workaround to achieve the result of one ...

Is this because you are trying to record and not resample?

should (?) be able to combine the two samples in-box through resampling - NOT recording.

1) start yr resample recording by pressing pad1 - then press yr ext pad and sing through that source.

If that doesn't work -

2) record your ...

One way to tail it off is use mostblunted's subsonic fadeout trick -

resample to another pad - use subsonic effect -

knobs 1 and 2 - all the way to right (or is it left? - I do it instinctively and cant remember)

you want knob 3 all way down - no effect

press yr pad to play the sample ...

great stuff - i went into it trying to ignore what you were worried about - nothing leapt out - then i tried focus on the bit you worried about and nothing "stood out"

ain't that the truth - since my last mishap I keep a range of different brand and size cards - don't keep all yr good stuff on one, if it goes down you will feel sick as a dog.

works a treat jb - and no doubt for all resampling function with fx when you want twiddle that 3rd knob.

thanks dman - i have soundforge to do that but with my 404 stuff I prefer to do as much as possible "inboard". it doesn't make sense, it's just a personal thing.

whatever i can do on the 404 i find more satisfying - even though the final track might be less impressive to a listener.

am rebuilding all my sample banks into my new 404 - I used to use the subsonic effect to fade out the ends of untidy samples when resampling.

It works great for fading the ends of samples - but for trying to fade in - on resample - when you move the 3rd knob it changes its ...
