You can control your software with the 606, but I must say setup is not without its headaches.:

The other way round, that's what I mean. Controlling the 606 with software (triggering the sounds especially, tweaking can allways be done on the front panel of the 606 itself, but it should be ...

I use a microkorg (I'm starting to get a hang of the prgramming, finally erasing all those factory presets) for thick basslines, organ sounds, crunchy string/rythm-guitar like sounds and really, I like those small keys, even though I have big hands. It's a little tricky to play chords, but hence it ...

Really, I was stunned by this. Looking at the online manual, not finding the 'sequencing' chapter... not the slightest bit amazed by the loop-recording feature...

sp606 as a audio-interface...

I'm really not trying to annoy you guys with my question-spree... but what are forums for right?

Is the 606 when used with the usb connection comparable with other external sound-interfaces (near zero latency when recording and low noise) or is this really not near as good as, lets say, an ...

Damn... it just kinda sucks that the 606 is really everything (and all) I need. And just now, that I've stumbled upon this piece of material, it's going out of stock!

It sucks they dropped the whole sequencer-thing on the ps serie... I'm not into DJ-ing so major bummer for me!

Not a sequencer?

I don't really understand this...

I wanna buy the sp606 next month (money issues), but it's out of stock already (only ONE left at Roland here in Belgium), so the follow-up (sp 555) will be the only option for me to buy in the future (to have sampling ability together with the USB connectivity ...

I get the feeling you are referring to audio record. What I'm talking about is recording the midi note numbers into a soft sequencer, to be able to use the sp606 as a soundmodule triggered by the soft sequencer.

then just record midi notes into your sequencer using whatever midicontroller you ...

As this is exactly what I'm wondering, I notice that no-one has really talked about this?

external sequencer -> sp606

I'm planning to buy a sp606. Went through all the specs of the MPC's, electribes and now sp's. I'm wanting to stick with this one.

Some questions:

Is it possible to trigger the sp606 from an external sequencer (midi in or USB), without latency issues?
More then one pad bank at a time (like a ...
