Cool,
Yeah, I just figured that work around, came back to tell you guys and you'd beat me to it.
Switching to pattern mode after triggering sample, tapping in tempo and mashing up, then out of pattern mode to trigger next track.
Not ideal but workable.

Exsqueeze my need for clarification.
So the BPM of the effect is intertwined with the length of the sample so there's no way to detach it right?
All I really want is to be able to trigger a sample and then define the BPM of the FX (delay etc.) manually- independent of the sample's length.

Oh, I forgot to mention, I'm not sampling on the 404. I'm importing complete tracks and using the 404 like a DJ.
So I definitely can't set my own delay BPM? I'm stuck with whatever the machine tells me is the tempo of the sample?

newbie BPM issue

Hi all, just got me an SP-404. LOVE IT!!
Done a couple of gigs on it already, not using the sequencer, just triggering loops from pads.
One issue I've not been able to solve yet.
Some of my samples are quite long.
The effects' BPM on some is like 2/3 what it should be.
