Re: Mpc1k + SP505...possibilities?
Are you trying to trigger samples in your 505 by using the pads on the 1000? You're basically trying to use your 1000 as the sequencer, and have it trigger your 505, right?? If that is the case you have the MIDI cable connected right. Do you have both the 505 and the 1K running into a mixer? If you ...

Re: you guys ever get in a slump?
When I'm in a slump I'll just process drum hits... Sample a bunch of kicks/hats/snares etc. either from a drum machine or records, into different samplers with different sample rates and different effects (especially on the 404) and basically build myself some dope drum kits, then when I'm feeling ...

Re: Mpc1k + SP505...possibilities?
Actually now that I look at the manual, I just realized there are two places to change the midi note number assigned to the pads... The way I described above would be just to change it for one specific program, but if you want to change the deaults so it applies to every new program you create you ...

Re: Mpc1k + SP505...possibilities?
not sure if you can switch midi note # assignments on the 1K,
hXc is right on the money, and to make it even better you CAN change the midi note number that the 1K pads transmit. If you go into program mode there's a note screen where you can adjust the midi note number of each pad... In the 505 ...

Re: SMARTMEDIA: what are the real advantages?
Yeah, the 202 has a max polyphony of 4, and for some reason playing a sample off the card takes up 3 voices...
Check page 19 of the owner's manual, as it breaks it down pretty nice on what you can and can't play at the same time on the 202:

Re: SP Lyrical Fire EP Match Up
Yo!! Sorry for the delay!! I got paged over the weekend for an emergency situation involving a storage unit full of records and I had to set up a triage center in the field to help relieve the effects of some minor water damage... I'm glad to say nearly all of them made it, though. We lost a few ...

Re: Anyone using the 404 for live pa stuff
Yeah, I rock the 404 live all the time. I'm in a group that I make the beats for, and I always play my shit live off it. I rock it a few differnet ways, depends on the track... If I rap on a track I might just trigger the entire beat from the 404, and then do a few things with the effects for flavor ...

Re: POP sound when I record samples??
If it's one pop noise at the transition point of the loop, and then not when the sample itself is playing, I'd be suprised if that is a power/grounding issue... That's easy to test without bringing it elsewhere, though, just throw some batteries in it and unplug the power... That way you can rule ...
