Importing Files - HELP

Using the Wave Converter I put my files onto the compact flash card (mine is a Kingston 2GB, which may be the problem) and then tried to import them into my SF-555. They are all the correct bitrate etc. I keep getting a "EMP" message, even though I know the files are there, and in the correct place. It's getting frustrating!
Also, I cleared the SP-555 memory before I started, so I had a clean slate. However, now when I insert my CF half of the pads in C bank light up. Different pads light up each time I turn on the machine with the CF in.
I don't have phones or speakers at the moment so I can't listen to what is actually on the 555 at the moment, but I should be able to resolve that in an hour or so.
