Hey thanks for setting up the poll Elhuana! Good see a bunch of competitors again too. Don't know if its just me, but your new way of showing the Box links in these fields isn't working. At least it looks impressive.

Pity I couldn't spare any time this past week to make a beat with my own samples. This was home turf, oh well.

Props to aD's beat's name too, great reference! Still to listening to the contributions, yet to vote.

my vote goes to Nimbostratus. That beat was just punishing. Calm with the drums and hard with the sample it was real dope. Really tough call between aD and Nimbostratus for me - but went with Nimbo, that beat got me pumped lol
Another ill battle!

this was a hard one to navigate...the drums didn't lend themselves to a lot of the tricks I usually use and the synths were hard to hook. Great job with your entries guys. I've gotta say for me it was a tossup between Teewok and and AD. Tee, your stuff is top notch, but the synth felt kind of forced. AD gets my vote.

Thanks for the couple votes so far..listening to my beat now, I really wish I woulda put in like a 4 bar part towards the end of just the keyboards-but I always find things in my beats that could be better going back and listening to them after I think I'm done- one of the reasons i posted those rough versions in the music section. I also wish I coulda got the guitars sounding simmilar to tahj's joint- which is why he gets my vote. The beat as a whole shows mad creativity, and though it's more on some "experimental" ish, those filters are extremely well done & reminiscent of Pete Rock, I love that sound. Teewoks drums were crazy, I love that drum pattern. My other favorites are elhuana ( the way you made that snare sound more like a rimshot was ill, I don't even know how to freak drum sounds like that),nimbstrodamous (you gotta make a beattape called the secret of nimb,lol--my favorite childhood book) and resampl. a lot of creativity in this overall, really dope--these battles are helping my get back on my shit.@ Unfolding-thanks man, yea as a lot of people know the Melvins were one of Kurt Cobains biggest influences, he was actually a roadie for them and painted their van with a portrait of Kiss, lol. They were all from Aberdeen--me being new to the Seattle area I thought it was a fitting title. Anyway, dope battle! Peace

a.D. – wonderful feeling of late night jamming in a garage
Elhuana – relaxed beat with a last track feeling
Teewok – mellow sounding last track feeling (and the sound of a lot of work)
Flop – A lot of SP-made sound fx with soft background
Lodger – sounds like a musical illustration of some sort of machine – I like that
TAHJ – low-voiced with interesting variations – nice song structure
Resampl – different approach and pleasant beat
Nimbostratus – really like the intro with the ‘breathing sound’ – a little unbalanced mix in my ears

I vote TAHJ

I'm gonna go with Teewok for having the livest sounding beat out of them all. All the rest of our beats were a little more down-tempo and mellow, but he brought it a little harder and used those Melvins drums to their fullest. Good stuff all around though. Glad to be a part of this (my first) battle.

hey been away from the arena for a minute but ready to get back to work. I like what everybody did with this battle, some very interesting samples to choose from. Hate to be the tie breaker but ime give my vote to TeeWok. I like the aD trak too, but like someone said teewok's was the most live too me.

Nevermind look likes the poll ended 6 hrs ago haha f-in weed man.....
