Yeah man, I've been googling around and found that Sam Ash, American Musical and many other gear stores reducing the price to 1,099 dollars.

Will we behold a new MV soon?

Anyone interested in an MV should grab one for only one grand for sure!! It's easily worth double that if you're into MPCs / SPs and basically just dedicated hardware samplers that are able to do just about everything (you'd need). (Where's that 'make me a coffee' hardware expansion Roland? :-p )

I doubt there will be a new MV any time soon... as at least Roland itself doesn't seem to show any signs of wanting to discontinue their MV8800.

In fact, it took off quite slow, but is selling better than the MPC5k now. I'd be surprised if they'd pull the plug any time soon.

On the other hand, there's a couple of things I'd like to see on a new MV that would be worth upgrading.

I'm really not so sure which route Roland is planning to go when it comes to the impact of software and all that. Although I do love their take on the DAW-like environment inside the MV that's still totally dedicated to the hardware sampler side (contrary to a Maschine where they've turned things around).

just copped one should be on the way this week. i had an mv8000 before (first thing that got me into sampling actually bought it for around 3000 retail on the first day of release) this is such a great deal so I cant wait for it to get here. will probably use that instead of sp unless on the road or traveling.

the news got into Vietnam just this afternoon...i'm going to place my order tomorrow.

damn, bad news, the next shipping date from my dealer here in Vietnam is another week. but that's okay, i can wait. I'm in process of remodeling my house anyway. I got mine on ebay for only $999 + $200 for shipping the item back to Vietnam so total is only $1200, not to bad. Almost purchased it couple months back when retail was still $1900

Damn, i got mine second hand for 1200. bummer
