Ok, so I'm still somewhat new to my sampler, but I've been creating clips on Ableton that I would like to use on my sampler. The problem is that when I put 3 or 4 samples on the sampler from Ableton, even if there at the same tempo, they will start to drift. How do I get my samples not to drift.
Here's the problem as a whole:
- I create the sample in Albeton.
- Then I transfer it to the SP-555 via USB
- For example, I recorded three samples all at 140BPM on the SP-555 from Ableton.
- The problem is that they still drift even when the sampler says they are the same BPM

I still may not be explaining this right, but any help would be greatly appreciated.

The problem seems to be the recording and cutting process. When you record the samples and cut them on the 555, you might get slight imprecision. The 555 shows 140bpm, still the loops could be anything between 139.5 and 140.49 bpm. Decimal rounding, you know?

Instead of recording, better transfer the samples via memory card, or if that's possible on the 555 (I don't know), directly transfer the sample as a file via USB. Do not record. That way the samples will keep their 100% exact length, just as Live has spit them out.

Ok, so is there another way to do this without using the wave converter??

i dont think you can do it with the usb, youd have to use the wave converter.
one thing that you could try is making patterns out of your samples. that way they start over at every loop and are triggered at the same time again and again.

Maybe I'm asking the wrong question. Is there a way to keep my samples, that I created on Ableton, to stay in sync with each other and not drift? (without using pattern select) And if so,, what are the steps to do this?

Dude, you gotta keep the original length of the sample by 100%. You won't achieve that by recording, may it be via USB or via the inputs, doesn't matter. Because of the cutting being not 100% accurate on the 555, you will always get it a bit off.

As I said, transfer the sample as a file via card. I'll leave it to you and your manual reading skills to find out how to do such a basic operation.
