Beardface! Some awesome stuff, plus that Neurosis sample during the jam at the end, damn!!
The others ones were cool as well, Lodgers beat would've been my second choice, I guess. But what's up with your beat, Wax, too lazy to put the vocals over it?

Great work y'all!

teewok+IIIII=the most exp & "push-over" trax
wax ispektor=best track, best idea!!!...but no accappella...damn...
lodger=best sounding drums man, sick
ellaguru=...sorry...
...
beardface=neurosis+black flag samples+bass live+other things...that's enough for me to vote this track...
peace!

My vote: III
amazing competition guys; I'm quite proud to have been a part of it. III I have to say that you did a stellar flip of that vocal. The only constructive criticism is that the ambient fx seem to come out of nowhere at times...maybe subtle hints of those elsewhere in your track would have tied them in better to the mix and composition. for example, layer variations of it elsewhere at a rather low volume so that the listener almost subconsciously becomes accustomed to them before having such a powerful and attention seeking effect. Nice job mixing as well!
I'm hoping this will be the first of many entries into the battles...the challenges here always seem awesome.

yo im votin lodger. its like the strings were sampled and played like a synth, and it builds real nice. really like that subtle djembe/bongo sound as well

im worshippin teewok lately, but he really gives me the reasons..
imho your track was insanely dope, two times better than the original version, plus all the vocals blend with the beat so well... For me it's a 606 masterpiece homie, ive been bumping this remix all the time lately, for real.
five eye indeed came up with some nice idea, but my vote goes to Tee.
I relly enjoy listening those open challenge beats, I think it's time to jump in soon.
peace

Sick battle dudes/dudettes!
Cheers for the votes too, glad my flip didn't go over your heads. \m/
Pity I just missed the vote... Dig Wax Inspector's instro (don't blame ya for cutting the vox out, got a version of mine that drops Biggie's verse). Did anyone else do instro versions as well? If so, I wouldn't mind grabbing them.
But it would've been hard to vote anyway- IIIII's rhythm ruled, Teewok's textures were BLEAK, Lodger just raised the standard for new competitors... It was a tight field!
Catch ya at the next round.
