Re: Phone Support
Well, I probably can't help ya, see my parents get real pissed when I make long-distance calls.
Could you try explaining it in this thread, though? I'd be glad to help.

just be patient mate and keep plugging at it, you will get somewhere eventually...
everyone struggles at the start, but as soon as you get going its alot easier and everything becomes second nature...

Re: Phone Support
i totally feel where your coming from but a phone call is asking alot from a stranger. i feel like if i could hang with someone from this forum for like 10 minutes id learn everything i need to know but theres so many different styles that it be hard to figure out what you wanna do someone elses way. so do like i do, and almost have a stroke trying to figure things out, cause once you do, your gold. ive been banging on my 555 for about 3 months and aint made shit yet. but i can chop fast as hell and navigate the machine like i had it for years. next ill have to make a beat.

Ya I have been plugging away and just now ( about 10 months later ) I am starting to make beats I like. The way I look at it is, I wouldnt expect to pick up a guitar and play a led zeppelin within a couple of months.. Just like any instrument it takes time to understand and build your style.

Re: Phone Support
i think webcam chat support would work much, much better than phone support. i couldn't even imagine how to describe how to do a lot of things on the 404 without showing somebody.

I know from reading online forums that members using a "shock" signature is popular sometimes (know anybody that uses a "shock" myspace picture?). Often times the shocking element doesn't match up with the vibe of the member's work (if they actually have any). When I listen to Sarge, I just don't get that 'smack a bitch' type of vibe- I actually never get that type of vibe at all, unless we're talking about a guy acting like a bitch (you all know the Ice-T song 'Bitches 2' right?) but that extended metaphor may be lost upon someone viewing from the outside- maybe even our 2 female members.
But Freedom of Expression is part & parcel with artistry and everyone is encouraged to put up any damn thing they feel, just as they are encouraged to ask about and comment about.
Here's my shocker for the day:
Mary and Joseph had sex to make Jesus

Joseph's jus the poor dude who had to pay and care for that kid...
maybe he taped the act, but I'm not sure bout that. (prolly the one that's known as the 'jesus video') *no presents for me this year I guess*

Re: Phone Support
Speaking of phones...
I got a new cell recently and it uses this technology called E-ink.
It has a translucent keypad which changes depending on how you have it flipped open (reg cell, or qwerty mode). In other words each key is like it's own little screen, capable of displaying many different commands- it text mode you can click & get symbols, etc..
This would be really cool tech to make it's way into music gear. "Shift" key action is used on most new beat machines, but if they were E-Ink you could for instance hit 'sequencer' mode or 'pattern' mode and get different functions out of the same buttons- isn't there a machine that sorta does this?
With the opaque kind of buttons & pads that Roland uses it would work rad.
btw my number is 222-2222 I got an answering machine that can talk to you, it goes...
