Yeah, it seems they finally took the opportunity to combine the best of two worlds when it comes to the Kaoss Pad and the MicroKorg.
Looks like a tank though.

Can't wait to read the JBL reviews. At $500usd this thing will be flying off the shelves for what it does.

Yeah, I agree, although I think the price is going to make or break it the first few months though. If they're smart, they're going to go sub-500$ with this one.
Then again, they sort of got a right to do that, as their MicroKorg and MicroKorg XL exist too. They aren't going to make their own gear compete with eachother and because this is new, it's going to be more expensive. Sort of makes sense... but at 500$ I'm going to pass.

I figured this would be starting at $600-$700usd.
Here's a chap from SonicState giving it a pretty thorough going-over.

Hmmm, so far a couple of things bothered me for a bit:
-no pitch/chorus wheel
-no transpose for higher or lower octave notes (although you can pitch samples, but it's not excellent at that)
-yikes, it goes for about 750$ at the moment
Good things:
-Sound quality seems to be just great
-Seems to be good when using loops, but we sort of can expect that from Korg
-FX seems to be usable, minus the Ring Modulator perhaps
-Sampling seems to work intuitive, simple but with enough features to get things done
I have to say I'm a lot more positive about the machine itself now, but the price will be a deal breaker for many. For that price you probably can get a MPC-1000 + a midi keyboard controller as well.

Yeah, I'm glad it's only the list price and that you're right about that, as there's no way it's going to sell good at 750$.
In fact, 500$ is a bit steep as well, but it's not bad for a brand new product's launch price I suppose.

and while they're at it, make a portable MV too, or better yet, combine the two.
