MC-303 as sequencer???

Would I be able to sequence a Microkorg with a MC-303? I'm not talking about syncing the MK's arpeggiator with the 303. I want to create original melodies and have the MK play them. This could be a really dumb question, as I don't know much about the 303 or MIDI in general. I was wondering this because I could get a 303 for pretty cheap, and I don't really NEED a drum machine, as I have a SP-404 already. But if it could sequence an external synth then I would definitely pick it up. And if the 303 can't do that, what budget priced piece of hardware could?

I don't have much personal experience with the 303, but from what I've heard it's not very good as a sequencer for external gear. There are several options, however. I would guess you could get a Yamaha rm1x for pretty cheap, that one is a very competent sequencer (you should however make sure it has the upgraded OS - the first batch had some problems with resetting external gear).

i've heard that the 303 have one of the worst midi sync, but maybe this is only valuable for the Slave option, maybe no problem for 303 in master mode.

This guy knows how to do it, and can even show you.

Just use the MK's midi function to the mc303 and follow what he says...
