SP-FORUMS

Spammers seemed to like the forum changes and visited more frequently spamming the forums with random advertisements. Until now.

I've added an anti-bot question to the registration page, which makes you answer the question Which company made the SP-404? which bots don't know but hopefully all real people do. (they can always Google it of course).

If you see any new spam posts in the future be sure to hit the Report button in the post, it's the little icon with the exclamation mark found in the top right corner of every post.

Thanks to the people who already did this . Makes it a lot easier for me to find the spammers and ban them and delete their posts.

Is teh correct answer to the question with a capital letter or not?

I had some trouble on one forum where the answer was supposed to be Earth but only recognised earth

I think it's time to use more difficult CAPTCHA and add some more human questions to the login page.Haven't seen so much spam in this forum for years!

Lots of spam lately.

I just made it more difficult for spammers to sign up for an account. This might mean some regular folks might have difficulties signing up as well (they will need to answer some Roland/SP trivia), but at least we should have less spam. For existing users nothing changes (except for less/no spam hopefully).

I've also given a bunch of new people moderator privileges to help delete the spam. Thanks to everyone offering to help out. I think we have enough moderators for now, but if the spam problem continues over the next weeks feel free to volunteer your time if you like helping out.

I'm more than happy to help. The "kitchen" account spammers are really starting to be annoying. I could also try to look for new ways to deal with it and get Tapatalk installed too. I have done this sort of thing for years.
