SP-FORUMS

As you might have noticed the website was offline for a couple of hours today. The reason is we upgraded the old forum software (something calledphpBB) to the newest version. This means it will be easier for us to add new features, plus the new version includes a few features on its own. (better attachment support for one)

Since the old layout wasn't technically compatible with the new software version we had to redo the layout as well. We did a quick job just to have something okay to look at for now. The design might change in the future.

I won't list all the changes since most of them aren't very significant, but you might want to know about these:

• Better chat-integration. You can now see how many users are chatting (see top navigation). Also, you will automatically logged in using your account.
  
• Inline MP3 player. We added [ MP3 ] bbcode tags, which makes it possible to embed an mp3 song (or songs) into your post so other members can play them without being redirected to another page.
  
• Sponsors. We added a banner to the bottom of the website. If you buy anything through that link you help support us covering hosting costs, etc. We're still experimenting with this. We might remove them or switch to a different revenue system in the future depending on your feedback.
  

By the way, we'll add a new section with some fresh content to the website tomorrow so stay tuned!

i like the function changes, quick acess to boards battle and music is a great idea! but have to say that it does certainly LOOK "okay" haha.

I liked the simplicity of the old forum, but out with the old, in with the new I suppose. Will def take a minute to adjust.

Nice new look man, might wanna update the spam filters though. Never seen it this bad. Unless that was juxt posting about mature asian titties. =)

question:
when we are in a category, for example-"your music", how do we can going back in the category without pushing the "back" arrow? in the old version there were something like "sp-forums>your music>song x", and it was easyto do that by pushing again your music.
maybe the solution is there and i haven't saw yet.

hey keesj maybe you can return back the old page header? this one looks too dark the previous one in my opinion was better. other than that great updates, more functionality is always nice.
