Any one have this problem.. The signal is clean for a while recording into logic through the sp's mic input and then after a lil while it starts cracking with treble noise. Only way to fix this is to turn it off and start again... then it takes a few more mins to start again. Has anyone seen this before or have any ideas.... thanks?

try increasing the latency on the sp 555 control panel its default is like 6ms but some programs will need it at 30-60ms

the driver also appears twice, once as direct x in and out, and once under asio, make sure its asio.

if those two dont help maybe you are recording over the volume limit and peaking. if so then turn down the sp555s volume

I'd be really grateful if you can help me out with some instruction regarding the latency and the driver. I use a mac so is the driver located in Logic 8 somewhere? I installed the driver that came on the cd with the sp-555.

I will look again at the manual to try and find this latency thing.

It's not the level, i have triple checked its not peaking out and the sounds begins even with no talking into the mic, although the mic light must be on.

there should be a program wherever you installed the 555 driver. probably called 555 driver config or something like that

perhaps on a PC but I can't find it n the mac. I will look and see if its in logic somewhere

Still no joy on finding it. Does anybody have any ideas? I really wanna get this sorted. It's a pain having to reboot the sp-555 every 3-4mins because of some weird mic clipping

Some (older) PCs have similar problem with any input in cubase. A way to fix this is to reload the audio device in cubase setup panel.

So take this fwiw, it might be a similar problem or it might have nothing to do with it.

yea you should be able to edit it by going to the menus something like

file----preferences----audio drivers/devices----asio----sp555----settings/control panel

it may not be file but it should be a procedure like such.

yeah... logic on mac works quite differently. you need to create what's called a "aggregate device"

latency settings should definitely be within the app you're interfacing with on a Mac... in Live it's located in the audio-in dialog, under preferences. Probably will be the same general location within Logic.

One thing I just worked out is that it only comes from my computers built in output.
