hi
i bought the 8tracks Tascam dp 01 fx digital recorder in 2005 to substitute my old 4tracks analog Yamaha mt120 played for years. i don't used that much in the years, but recently i kept on using it many times.
this recorder is ok, no many noise, possibility to link an external fx module, midi out and usb port. but using it more frequently has shown to me some limits: only 2 line in, no Eq Mid, and, most of all, you can't hear the tracks you don't want to mix when in Bounce mode 'cause if you do that they will be recorded with the ones yu decided to bounce...in other words, there is not a mix or monitor mode that give you the way to listen those tracks while mixing...that was a cool feature in the yamaa mt120...
the screen also seems to me little now...
so is not urgent but i'm looking for an 8 track digital recorder with

-Bounce function like in Ableton Live (in other words:possibility to listen to tracks that are not bounced)
-midi out( if with with midi in, it's ok too 8) )+metronome
-usb port
-mute tracks feature (as in Tascam dp01 fx or yamaha mt 120)
-Eq complete (HI MI LO)
-Mix (and Monitor) feature (as in ymaha mt20)
-internal fx applyable to the overdub of tracks AND extrnal fx applyable
-a graphical screen (not a must, but...) to edit (cut/paste and so on) better tracks.
-more than 2 lines in

...maybe i'm looking for a digital version of Yamaha mt120...it exists? :)

i found those one:

Yamaha aw 1600, Korg d-1200 and Korg d-3200: those 3 are the only in this reasonable price zone that accept external fx.
the Zoom hd16 is oanother interesting machine wich doesen't accept external fx, but is capable to became midi-controller mixer (via usb).
the Boss br 1600 look interesting too, but don't accept exteranl fx and limited usb capabilities.
anyone has exeriences with any of this?

yes chummslick, but i'm looking for a recorder wich accept external fx 'cause i want to operate out of my pc and if i'm unsatisfied from internal fx, i will not like this...;
and more, i know the Boss they record everything in the internal processing (also the metronome!!...), also when the bounce mode is active and this is not good for me, i want a an "intelligent" bounce mode with wich you can select what to record and what to listen while bouncing...
i think yamaha aw-1600 korg d-1200 d1600 and d-3200 do this well...but, yes, the price isn't the same as the Boss... :(
