I have just bought the sp 555 and it's difficult to me to understand some things.

1 - To use it as a midi, can I do it by the USB or do I have to do it by the midi connections?

2 - What is the USB conection for?

3 - I know how to get music into the compactflash card but how do I get music in to the a and b sample pads which are in the sp 555?

4 - Can I delete the samples which come with the roland sp 555 in the bank A?

5 - Where can I find a manual of the cakewalk sonar LE in spanish? I have no idea of how to use it, I know how to use fruity loops or audacity for example but this one it's really strange to me

Sure I'll have more n00b questions but it's something new and I'm not used to :)

to my konwledge you CANNOT transfer samples from pc via usb cable to the sp555. and you can use the sp555 as midi device a) usb/pc and b) midi cable with other devices such as synthie or anything elese which has midi in.

Thanks really ;)

My questions have been answered fast and wel :P And about the manual and the sonar LE in spanish, I wrote an e-mail to cakewalk and they sent me the last update of the sonar LE which it's possible to install in Spanish and also the .pdf of the manual in my language. They' re really nice people I think.

Thank you and Now I've got exams so I'll be away some days because of the university exams but after that I will be here to learn more of you :)

to use midi with your computer all you need is the USB. To use midi with another device such as a keyboard or another sampler or drum machine then u need the midi cable.

hey schopper,
i dont know about "loading" samples via usb, but im talking about setting the audio output to your 555 then using the sample button to record to a specific pad. it does work thats how i sample anything from my mp3 collection. i used to use my zune with rcas but someone on this forum(cant remember who) wised me up to streaming str8 through the usb. it works beuty plus it frees up my rca ins for my record player!
