hello from a french songwriter...
i've recentlybought a sp555 for my 2 bands
in one, i play with a groovebox (mc505)
in another with a rc-50 loopstation (guitarpedal).
in these 2 configurations, i can''t synchronize the samples when they are played looped. Even when the bpm indicator says "Mdi", and that tmp is "on", a displacement ( ?) appears.
it appears with the loop capture and with previously recorded sounds.
When you accelerate the tempo on the mc 505, the sample played with the sp555 keeps the same speed.
Do you understand me ?
Have you got any solution to keep samples played looped from different sources conncted in midi at the same tempo ?

you must be triggering the samples via the pattern editor for the MIDI to sync

you mean, i create a pattern per song at the correct bpm ?
if this skill works, it's great but why is the clock synchronisation not working ?

yeah man, the triggering of the samples (pads) will only sync to external gear if those samples are laid out in a Pattern - the Pattern is what syncs to the MIDI Clock

it is confusing because all the samples have BPMs too - try to ignore these

are you samples discrete sounds (drum hits, instrument stabs) which together create a pattern?
or are they rendered loops at a set-tempo (ie pad A1 = drum loop, A2 = bassline)?

if you are using long, tempo-set loops as your samples
then they will only change BPM if you set those samples to sync to Pattern Tempo

it depends :
with the second configuration :
for exemple : in a song, the bass player begin with a loop played on his rc 50, i enter later with a kick, then he samples himself another loop recorded live , i go on later with a snare recorded before on a second pad...
i've never created patterns so i will learn and come back if i can't use them properly



with my other band, i try to use loop capture (to loop live with the 555) but it also decay.

ithink i'm not using long samples (the longest is about 30 seconds)
but for exemple, in the same song, i begin with the sampler, then other intruments begin to play, at the middle of the song, the sampler stops for a while and after a solo (the musician dosen't keep the same tempo) the sampler starts again (at the same tempo than the beginning). is it possible to do this with patterns ?
(ouch ! my sp555's skill is as bad as my english, hope you understand...)
any suggestioons ?
