Hi All,
Got my 555 today - yippee !
One thing - bundled with it is a CD-ROM "Creative Sampler Sound Library".
Sounds like a mine of samples for use with the 555 but it has lots of folders (mostly empty ?) and the files that are listed are .SPD and .DMG files, which Windows can't open (eg to audition)...
Am I missing something here ?
Can anyone steer me to understanding ?
Thanks ato all.

The .SPD format is what is used by your SP-555 I think, just copy them onto the CF card and import the samples. Not sure about the .DMG format, but I bet those too are related to the native 555 format so to speak.

Thanks, PHeMoX.
I'll give it a go and let you all know.

the .dmg format is a mac only image format which would go a way to explaining why your windows machine can't read it.

That would make a lot of sense indeed. I don't think you're missing out on anything though, as those files probably are doubles.

OK. Thanks. I get that SPD are for Windows and I can copy them to the flash card but the 555 doesn't seem to see them...
It's the flash card isn't it ?
I've searched the web for Sandisk 2GB Ultra II and strangely, the whole world either seems to be out of stock or won't ship it out of their own country.
I may have to go try my luck at a store in town ... now that is just like the 80s

Sony CF cards also work, but I think they're more expensive... might be easier to find tho. Good luck!
